Number Counting Mats to 20 – Leafy Numbers
These Number Counting Mats are great for learning counting and number sense through play.
Features:
* Leafy numbers design (works really well with counting natural materials).
* Numbers from 1-20.
* Half page size, 2 numbers per page. Cut to make 2 small mats.
* Smaller size is handy for allowing more space on the table.
Uses:
* Loose Parts Counting Mat. Children count out loose parts into the box to correspond with the number. This design is lovely to use with natural materials such as small rocks/pebbles.
* Play dough mat (laminate). Children make play dough balls, sausages or other creations to correspond with the number on the mat.
* Children draw or paste the corresponding number of objects in the box. They could also use stickers or stamps to show the amount.
* Number Composition. Children write in the box as many ways as they can think of to make that number eg. For number 9 they could write (or draw) 5 and 4, 8 and 1, 7 and 2 etc.
* Number Operations. Children write in the box as many ways as they can think of to arrive at that number using number operations (+ - x ÷). For example, for number 15 they could write: 10+5, 18-3, 5+5+5, 3x5 etc.
