Number Counting Mats to 30 – Black and White

These Number Counting Mats are great for learning number recognition, number sense and counting through play.

Features:

* Numbers from 0-30.

* Generic font. Hand drawn, so it has an imperfect, genuine style.

* Half page size, 2 numbers per page. Cut to make 2 small mats.

* Smaller size is handy for allowing more space on the table.

* Black and white.

Uses:

* Play dough mat (laminate). Children place play dough inside the number to make its shape and make play dough balls, sausages or other creations to correspond with the number on the mat.

* Loose Parts Counting Mat. Children trace inside the letter (with their finger or a pencil/marker) and place loose parts in the box to correspond with the number. Or they could build a tower on the box using that many blocks or bricks. Another idea is to place toy building bricks on the box showing that number of studs instead of the number of bricks.

* Children trace inside the number then draw or paste the corresponding number of objects in the box. They could also use stickers or stamps to show the amount.

* Number Composition. Children write in the box as many ways as they can think of to make that number eg. For number 9 they could write (or draw) 5 and 4, 8 and 1, 7 and 2 etc.

* Number Operations. Children write in the box as many ways as they can think of to arrive at that number using number operations (+ - x ÷). For example, for number 15 they could write:  10+5,  18-3,  5+5+5,  3x5  etc.
