These Uppercase Letter Mats (Half Page Size) in Foundation Font are great for learning letter recognition and letter formation through play.

Features:

* All 26 Uppercase letters

* NSW/ACT Foundation Font, but most uppercase letters across Australia and New Zealand are similar.

* Two letters per page, cut to make 2 small mats from each page.

* Black and white

Uses:

* Play dough mat (laminate). Children place play dough inside the letters to to make its shape.

* Loose parts mat. Children place loose parts along the letters to help embed the shape in their memory.

* Craft template: Children create an artwork eg. by drawing, painting inside the letter, pasting/gluing craft materials such as glitter, feathers, scrunched tissue paper etc.

* Phonics/Phonemic Awareness activities eg. Children match images or small objects to the mat that starts with that letter (our Initial Sounds Picture Cards work well for this).

* Letter Recognition Activities. Eg. Write a range of letters onto a sheet of dot stickers and children match and stick the right stickers onto the right letter. You could also do this as a lowercase to uppercase matching activity.

* Letter Formation. Children trace inside the letters with their finger or with a pencil (laminate to use with dry erase markers). For letter mats with formation guides (eg. where to start and arrows to show direction) use these.
