Authentic Interest is the Key!
Hi, I’m Emma! Mother, teacher of 20 years and founder of WunderSparks. WunderSparks is a collection of printable resources and ideas for teachers, parents and home educators to use for creating playful learning opportunities for the children in their care.
One of my greatest passions is presenting kids with activities that spark that thrill of intrigue! Activities they are drawn to and authentically WANT to participate in. When their interest is sparked, the gateway is open for joyful learning that is meaningful to them.
But it’s not just the kids whose happiness matters. Your happiness, beautiful educators and parents, is so important. For yourselves and for the kids as well. My aim with WunderSparks is to also bring joy to YOUR day and take out some of the battle. If it’s fun for you and fun for the kids it’s win-win! Just do what inspires you! As I’m not in the classroom anymore, I use the activities I create as invitations for my daughter, her friends and our homeschooling community. The children aren’t required to participate. But they do! It’s great learning for me to see what things interest them more than others, what they play with for longer, the learning that comes out of the activities, the creativity, and which kids are interested in which things. Thats why I make so many themes - to capture the interests of different kids!
It was important for me to make WunderSparks really inexpensive - one small yearly fee to support me enough to keep creating. WunderSparks isn’t like the big educational resource providers that have everything. I make what brings joy to me and the children in my world and helps them with the next step in their learning. And I hope they bring joy to you and the children in your world too!
